What to Expect for Postpartum In-home Massage

Reservations – Monday is the only day available for In-home massage. Book in early as appointments fill up quickly.

Space – A space of around 10×8 ft provides room for the massage table as well as for the massage therapist to navigate around the table comfortably. This can be inside in any room or even outside on a beautiful day. Access to a bathroom for hand-washing is also necessary.

Setup – I will arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment to set up the table for your session. I will provide a high-quality massage table, soft clean linens, music, lotion, and all the necessary tools to create a soothing and relaxing atmosphere. It will take another 15 minutes after your session to clean and pack up the table.

Health History – For your safety and health, we ask that you fill out a brief health history and consent form. This form will remain confidential.

Draping – A sheet or towel will modestly cover you at all times. You may undress to your comfort level or remain clothed. Only the area being worked on will be undraped. The massage can be modified to work through the sheets or clothing. Modest draping is required by law. I adhere to all legal and ethical standards.

Privacy – Before and after the massage, I will excuse myself (and wash my hands in the bathroom) so that you may get on/off the table in private.
Additional People – One additional family member may be added to your in-home postpartum massage appointment.

Note: I am a professionally trained, licensed, and insured Massage Therapist. All massage services are performed as defined by the Washington State Board of Massage.
